Marc Márquez was born on February 17, 1993, in Cervera, Spain. His rise through motorcycle racing happened quickly, but it was never simply a straight line to the top.
He won the 125cc World Championship in 2010 before becoming Moto2 World Champion in 2012. One year later, he stepped into MotoGP and immediately made history by winning the premier-class championship as a rookie in 2013.
That first MotoGP crown was only the beginning.
Márquez went on to establish himself as one of the defining riders of his generation, combining aggressive racecraft with remarkable bike control and the willingness to attack opportunities that other riders might leave alone.
After several difficult seasons shaped by injuries and recovery, his return to the top became one of the biggest stories in modern MotoGP.
